We have two great opportunities for alumni and the community to share their health and wellness expertise and facilitate wellness with the Loras campus.
The Loras College Wellness Fair will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. during Common Time in the Athletic and Wellness Center. This bi-annual event will feature over 40 educational, creative and interactive exhibits providing a variety of information and education on topics such as: vision health, alcohol awareness, healthy relationships and abuse prevention. Come and enjoy a free neck and shoulder massage, nutritional food samples, sign up to win a door prize, obtain exercise and nutrition guidance and find your inner peace.
The Loras College volleyball team is holding its fifth annual Think Pink night on Tuesday, October 16. The event promotes women’s wellness. Exhibitors will provide education and information on various women’s health issues including breast cancer -- sign up for some great giveaways! Junior Varsity plays at 6:00 and Varsity plays at 7:30. Proceeds will be donated to various local organizations including the Maria House. Put on your pink, support women’s health and enjoy some great volleyball.
The goal of both events is to increase awareness of spiritual, physical, intellectual, financial, social and emotional health issues. There will be many opportunities to learn about issues and positive health choices that impact students, faculty and staff. The exhibitors will help demonstrate resources that are available on the Loras campus and in the Dubuque community to facilitate this pursuit of health excellence and wellness.
We hope you are able to attend both events. Please contact the Loras College Health Center at 563-588-7142 or email Tammy Marti at firstname.lastname@example.org
, if you would like to share your expertise with our Duhawk community.
