Loras College to Host Reading by Madison, Wisconsin Poet, Seth Abramson

Loras College will be hosting poet Seth Abramson of Madison, WI, on Friday, April 12, 2013, at 7 p.m. in the Arizona Room in the Alumni Campus Center. Abramson is a graduate of Harvard Law School and the Iowa Writer’s Workshop. He is author of three collections of poetry, including Thievery (University of Akron Press, 2013), winner of the 2012 Akron Poetry Prize, author of Northerners (Western Michigan University Press, 2011), and winner of the 2010 Green Rose Prize from New Issues. He is also a contributing author to The Creative Writing MFA Handbook (Continuum, 2008), and series co-editor for Best American Experimental Writing (Omnidawn, forthcoming 2014).
 
Currently, Abramson is a doctoral candidate in English Literature at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He also works as a contemporary poetry reviewer for The Huffington Post and has published work in numerous magazines and anthologies, including Best New Poets (University of Virginia Press, 2008), American Poetry Review, Boston Review, New American Writing, Harvard Review, and Colorado Review. In 2008, he was awarded the J. Howard and Barbara M.J. Wood Prize by Poetry magazine.
