Loras Professor to Exhibit Artwork at Moscow Museum of Modern Art

Loras College Assistant Professor Seth Myers’ artwork “Corridor Two” was awarded “Honorable Mention-Best in Show” at the Annual  International Video Art Exhibition “Now & After” that recently took place at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art in Moscow, Russia.  The exhibition will travel internationally with its next stop in Kaluga, Russia, May 22.

Loras College Assistant Professor Seth Myers’ artwork will be included in the third edition of “Now & After,” an international video art show that will take place in the Moscow Museum of Modern Art in Russia from April 22 through May 5, 2013.

From the forty selected artists, Myers is one of only three Americans included from a pool of over 800 international artists from 54 countries considered.

Myers artwork, titled “Corridor Two,” deals with the root causes of aggression in men.  In addition to Myers’ work being part of the overall show, one day during the program his work will be presented as an independent installation.

“I have a great respect for the chosen international artists in the exhibition and I am honored to be showing my work with them in Moscow.  It is a significant milestone in my art career to be exhibiting in such a prominent museum,” Myers said.

The exhibition, called “Between Image and Personality,” focuses on the presentation, development and promotion of both Russian and international video art, integrating emerging and established artists from around the world to present their works to the general audience.  Artists from Italy, Nigeria, Austria, UK, China, Sweden, Romania, Poland, Germany, France, Mexico, and the U.S. will be included.
