Loras College President Jim Collins
(’84) recently returned from the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU) annual conference held in Washington, D.C., where he was re-elected as Secretary/Treasurer for the ACCU, which serves as the voice for Catholic Higher Education in the United States.
Serving as ACCU officers with Collins will be Loyola University (Ill.) President Fr. Michael Garanzini, and Marywood University (Penn.) President Sr. Anne Munley. Joining them on the Executive Committee are University of Dayton (Ohio) President Dr. Dan Curran; Villanova University (Penn.) President Fr. Peter Donahue; College of St. Mary (Ind.) President Dr. Carol Mooney and LaRoche College (Penn.) President Sr. Candace Introcaso.
The ACCU Board of Directors is comprised of 17 U.S. Catholic college presidents and one Catholic college president from Canada. The Board is elected by its membership of approximately 220 Catholic college and university presidents.
Collins is in his tenth year as president of Loras College. He also serves as Chair of the Iowa Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (IAICU); Vice-Chair of the Iowa College Foundation; member of the Seton Hall University Board of Regents and; on the NCAA Division III President’s Advisory Group.
