March 3-7 2014, Loras student organization Du-Buddies will be hosting “End the R-Word Week.” Co-sponsoring organizations include eDUcation Club, CAB, and the Catholic Identity Committee. This is the third year the initiative will take place at Loras. The End the “R”-Word campaign calls for the elimination of the word “retarded” and highlights the value of recognizing the human dignity of each individual. This year’s theme (Du-Buddies P.E.E.R.S. End the “R”-Word) promotes participation, equality, empowerment, respect, and socialization (P.E.E.R.S). During the week students can attend the different sessions, speakers, and activities.
