Applying to the Enhanced Program

Complete the requirements below or click here to fill out the application online.
  1. Students must be admitted to the college before they are considered for the Enhanced Program. 
  2. Apply to Loras College through the Office of Admission or at http://www.loras.edu/apply
  3. Apply simultaneously to the Enhanced Program. Read these instructions thoroughly.
  4. Note: Apply early in your senior year to the College and the program to ensure that you meet the Enhanced Program priority application date.
  5. Send the following to Lynch Learning Center by December 15:
  6. Ask two (2) individuals (teachers/counselors) who know your academic performance to complete the Enhanced Program Academic Reference form and to mail it to the Lynch Learning Center at the address below.
Note:
  • The Lynch Learning Center will start a file when you submit this application.
  • After your Loras College and Enhanced Program applications and materials are received, the Lynch Learning Center staff will review your information and determine if you will be invited for an official interview with program staff.Those students who are invited for interviews possess the following characteristics, abilities, and accomplishments:
    • The ability to self-advocate with professors and staff members
    • Have an IQ commensurate with college achievement
    • Success in an academically rigorous high school curriculum
    • An understanding of their disability
    • A desire to participate in the Enhanced Program
    • Time management and organization skills that allow them to be independent learners
    • Independent living skills
    • The ability to participate in a group-based college curriculum
  • Students who are interviewed will be selected for the program based on the materials they submit and their interview. 
  • If accepted, the deposit deadline for the fall semester is May 1.
  • There is no quota; the number of students accepted varies and depends on the number of students continuing in the Enhanced Program.
