Merit-Based Assistance & Loras Sponsored Scholarship Programs


Presidential Scholarships

Loras offers five (5) full tuition scholarships. Qualified candidates will have at least a 3.75 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale and a minimum 27 ACT composite score. Presidential Scholarship competition day will be held February 14, 2015. Candidates must be accepted to the College prior to January 31.
 

Loras Merit Awards

Loras offers academic scholarships to all accepted students. Scholarships range from $7,000 - $21,000.
 

Breitbach Catholic Thinkers and Leaders Program / Scholarship

$17,000 per year
This scholarship is awarded to 15 selected applicants. Application materials and essay are due December 22 (must be received by Dec 22). You may send or email your 1,000 word essay describing your faith development and how you hope to live a life of faith and leadership, and a detailed list of your activities and involvement while in high school. You will also need to send two letters of reference from two non-family members who can speak to your faith development and leadership qualities. Selected students will be invited to interview on campus during Breitbach Scholarship Days on February 7, 2015 and February 8, 2015.

Global Scholars And Citizens Program / Scholarship

$1,000 per year
The Global Scholars and Citizens Program is designed to deepen students’ understanding of 21st century China by engaging students in the study of language, culture and contemporary issues.  Participating students will receive a renewable $1000 scholarship for completing the outlined program requirements.

Pope John Paul II Memorial Program / Scholarship

One (1) $5,000 and Four (4) $2,000 scholarships awarded. Learn more and apply now or contact the Office of Admission to receive an application packet.
 

Music Scholarship

$500-$2,000 per year
Awarded based on audition and open to all majors. Students must be accepted to the college to be eligible to audition. Students must participate in at least one performance group as a Loras College student each year. Auditions will be held in February. National Alumni Board Scholarship

$3,000 per year
Awarded to a selected student each year and renewable for three years. Learn more and apply or contact us for additional details.
 

Loras Grant

Amount Varies
Based on financial need and total of other Loras College scholarships and grants awarded. Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress.

To ensure full consideration for scholarships and grants, students must be applied, accepted and have all current transcripts and test scores sent to Loras College by January 31, 2015. Scholarships cited subject to change prior to January 1, 2015. Scholarships may be renewable.
