Need-Based Assistance

Loras Grant Amount Varies
Based on financial need and total of other Loras College scholarships and grants awarded. Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress. Renewal over four years is based upon a consistent level of demonstrated need and completion of the FAFSA is required.
 
Federal Pell Grant Amount varies
Awarded to students according to specific need analysis criteria after completing the FAFSA. The amount awarded depends upon Federal funding levels and Congressional appropriations.
 
Federal Supplemental Opportunity Grant Amount varies
Awarded to students demonstrating exceptional financial need with preference given to Pell Grant recipients. The award level is dependent upon individual need and the level of federal funding.
 
Iowa Grant $1,000/year
Grants of $1,000 are available to Iowa students who meet need-based criteria and submit the FAFSA. Grants are also available on a pro-rated basis to students who enroll part time.
 
Iowa Tuition Grant Up to $4,000/year
Grants of up to $4,000 are available to assist Iowa students who attend an Iowa private college and are based upon financial need. Completion of the FAFSA is required and must be submitted to the federal processor by July 1. An Iowa Tuition Grant can be received for a maximum of eight semesters of full time study and can be pro-rated for students who enroll part time.
