Scholarships, grants and special awards are typically based on consideration of need and/or merit (grade point average, class standing and test scores), and are gifted, requiring no repayment.
MERIT-BASED ASSISTANCE & LORAS COLLEGE SPONSORED SCHOLARSHIPS
Loras College offers a wide variety of merit scholarships and awards based on academic performance, musical talent and other criteria. Loras College awards are available to U.S. Citizens and permanent residents who will be full time undergraduate students. These awards are not based in financial need.
BREITBACH CATHOLIC THINKERS AND LEADERS SCHOLARSHIP
Breitbach Catholic Thinkers and Leaders program is ideal for someone who is Catholic and curious about the tradition of Catholic thinking and enthusiastic about the possibility of making a difference. We welcome students who have had experience with service and leadership in high school. The program offers a $17,000 scholarship to Loras College.
LORAS COLLEGE TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIPS & GRANTS
Loras College offers renewable tuition awards for qualified, incoming, full-time (12 credits or more) transfer students. Awards will be based on a cumulative college Grade Point Average (on a 4.0 scale).
OTHER SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Grant assistance is available to full-time students who complete the FASFA and demonstrate financial need.
FOUR-STATE FLAGSHIP PROGRAM
If you live in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin or Minnesota, have at least a 3.0 high school grade point average and have a family income level below $100,000, you are eligible for the Four-State Flagship Rate Tuition Program at Loras. We will match the direct cost (tuition, fees, room and board) of the flagship university in your state. Students must live on campus.
The Office of Financial Planning receives information from a variety of organizations and companies who offer scholarships to students. Award amounts and criteria, as well as deadline dates, vary for each scholarship. It is recommended that these resources be pursued early in the admission and financial assistance processes.
