Vincent Anthony Berta was born and raised in Byron, Illinois. Berta came to Loras College in the fall of 1976. He was a member of the Duhawk Wrestling team under Coach Pat Flanagan. Berta received his bachelor’s degrees in Business and Mathematics in 1980.
After graduating from Loras College, Berta worked in financial institutions that included PNC Bank Corporation and Citizens Fidelity Bank and Trust.
In 1994, Berta took a position at Trans Financial Bank, Inc. as their Executive Vice President. In 1996, when the President and CEO of the institution, Douglas M. Lester, departed from the company, Berta was named the new President and CEO of Trans Financial.
In August 1998, Star Banc Corporation acquisitioned Trans Financial, Inc. for $696 million giving Star the second largest number of branch offices in Kentucky and making Star the third largest bank in terms of deposits in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Under the acquisition agreement, Berta became the Regional Chairman for Star and was responsible for all lines of business in the former Trans Financial markets.
Berta is currently the Co-Founder and Partner at Landmark Financial Advisors, LLC. He, and business partner Thomas A. Donnelly (former CEO/Chairman of Camping World) co-founded the firm in 2007.
Berta married the former Kathleen Buresh on June 6, 1981. The Berta’s have two children: Katherine “Katie” and Anthony.
