Alternative Housing Options

Smyth Hall, Lynch McCarthy Apartments, Byrne Oaks and campus houses are referred to as alternative housing. These options, available primarily to juniors and seniors, are designed to offer greater personal responsibility and flexibility in establishing community standards. Each resident living in Smyth Hall or Byrne Oaks must have at least 30 credits and a 2.0 cumulative GPA to be eligible to live in these options. Students requesting to live in the Lynch McCarthy Apartment Complex or the Campus Houses must have at least 50 credits and a 2.0 cumulative GPA to be eligible to live in these options. Each of these areas provides a different focus, yet all offer a less structured environment for living and learning.
