Tier 3 'Lead 4 Applying' focuses on service and commitment to the community. Participants will plan and execute a campus-wide service project. Tier 3 will prepare students to participate fully as citizen leaders, engaged in service to the common good within a diverse and complex world. Participants will also be able to effectively communicate and demonstrate their leadership abilities and how it relates to real world experience.
Activities in Tier 3 include:
-
Planning and executing Dance Marathon
-
Exploring organization that will benefit from service project
-
Processing group progress in meeting goals and timeline for completion of service project
-
Reflecting on experience
Alternating tiers of the LEAD 4 LORAS program will be offered every semester (ie. Tier 2 and Tier 4 in the Fall, Tier 1 and Tier 3 in the Spring) and each tier will consist of 6-10 sessions. At the completion of each tier, participants will receive a certificate of completion and the opportunity to continue on to participate in the next tier.
LEAD 4 Loras is based upon the Social Change Model of Leadership, and is focused on enhancing consciousness of self, congruence, commitment, collaboration, common purpose, controversy with civility, and citizenship.
