My Father’s Son Concert

11/13/2012

The Loras College Activities Board and the Campus Ministry CORE Team is sponsoring a free release concert for David J. Summers’ debut EP “My Father’s Son” on Nov. 17, 2012 at 9pm, in the Marie Graber Ballroom in the Alumni Campus Center at Loras College.  Summers will be joined by band mates John Spike, Chris Hadley, Dave McDermott, A.J. Spike, Peter Benson and Erin Horst. Enjoy stories behind the music from the EP and other originals, as well as some reinvented covers at the concert.

“My Father’s Son” was released on October 16, 2012. Hard copies are available for $5 from the Office of Spiritual Life, Campus Ministry Office, or directly from the artist at Loras College. It is also available for digital download at iTunes, Amazon, Google Music Store, and cdbaby.com.  Hard copies of the CD will also be available for purchase at the concert.

Summers is a 2008 graduate of Loras College and holds a Bachelor of Music degree.  He now works at Loras College as the Liturgy Coordinator. While the project is categorized as a Christian album, listeners will appreciate Summers’ deliberate crafting to make music that is accessible to a human audience.  He prefers to categorize the music as “Christian Perspective for the Common Good.”

You can “like” David Summers on Facebook and find out more information at www.facebook.com/DJSummersMusic.  This event is free and open to the public.
