On April 2, 2013 the Loras College Business Club will host Heartland Financial’ s Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, Andrew Douglas, to speak on investment and retirement strategies, from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm in the Alumni Campus Center, Ballroom D.
The Loras College Business Club is an organization on campus that is affiliated with the national Phi Beta Lambda organization. The mission of the organization is to further equip the current business student with the tools necessary to become a future business leader. Members of Phi Beta Lambda at Loras participate in a variety of activities that enhance their knowledge of business, including educational sessions with speakers such as Douglas.
“The Loras College Business Club is honored and excited to have someone as experienced and knowledgeable about investments as Mr. Douglas, come and speak at Loras. We have opened this session to the entire community to allow anyone interested in learning more about investment and retirement strategies to attend,” said Phi Beta Lambda president, Nicholas Czeshinski, (’14) (Dubuque, IA).
Douglas is responsible for determining investment policy and setting investment strategy for Wealth Advisory Services client portfolios. He also heads the market and economic research functions for the Wealth Advisory Services and manages the investment team at Heartland Financial. Douglas earned his BS and MBA degrees from the University of Tennessee-Martin and earned his designation as a Chartered Financial Analyst in 2002. He has over 15 years of investment experience and joined Heartland Financial in 2005.
According to Douglas, “I am pleased to be able to come and speak at Loras College and look forward to sharing information on investment and retirement strategies that will help educate our future business leaders as well as members of our community.”
Attendance is open to the general public and admission is $5. Admission proceeds will help support Phi Beta Lambda and the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra.
