Loras College’s 2nd annual Duhawk Day was held on Thursday, May 22, 2014. A sea of purple and gold spirit spread across social media and the day was a celebration of the many reasons we all love Loras College. Duhawk Day is an annual, world-wide celebration to welcome the newest group of alumni, unite alumni and friends around the world and focus the day on spirit and support for Loras College.
The second annual Duhawk Day was celebrated in 17 events across the country with more than 400 attendees and thousands of individuals participating through social media and informal gatherings. In the 175 years of Loras history, there has never been a day which has generated this much spirit and ignited so many donations to support our students through the Loras Fund.
Duhawks put their pride into action and showed their generosity through gifts to the Loras Fund. Over 1,130 Loras supporters gave on Duhawk Day in support of the College.
Because the donor goal was exceeded, Loras College has received a $15,000 donation from an anonymous 1985 alumnus who issued a gift-challenge. The support from the Loras community, near and far, reflects the commitment we all have in providing the Loras experience for future Duhawks!
