The Loras Psychology department is one of the oldest, largest and most widely respected psychology programs in the Midwest. Students who graduate from Loras with a Psychology Major are able to think critically, understand research, apply psychological theories and concepts and respond ethically to important human dilemmas.
 
Staffed by six full-time Ph.D. faculty members with diverse interests and backgrounds, the Psychology curriculum meets the standards for undergraduate education endorsed by the American Psychological Association. In addition to the traditional required classes, students have the opportunity to take such courses as Psychology and the Arts, Cross-cultural Psychology, Drugs and Human Behavior, Positive Psychology and the Psychology of Stress and Coping.
