Loras Transfer Scholarships & Grants

Loras College offers renewable tuition awards for qualified, incoming, full-time (12 credits or more) transfer students. Awards will be based on a cumulative college Grade Point Average (on a 4.0 scale) and based upon at least 15 transferrable credits..

Transfer Excellence Awards  $16,000
Requires a 3.5 or higher grade point average

Phi Theta Kappa Awards  $16,000
Membership in Phi Theta Kappa and a 3.5 or higher grade point average

Transfer Achievement Awards  $8,000 - $16,000
Requires a 2.0 - 3.49 grade point average

Music Scholarships - Amount Varies
Music Scholarships are Awarded based on audition and open to all majors. Students must be accepted prior to their audition and must participate in at least one performance group as a Loras College student. Auditions will be held in the spring.

Loras Grants
Grant assistance is available to full-time students who complete the FAFSA and demonstrate financial need.  The amount is based on need and total of other Loras College scholarships and grants awarded. Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Carver Scholars Program - Individual Amount Varies (Iowa Community College Transfers)
Scholarships are available to full-time students who will be starting their junior year in the fall semester of the award year. Students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale. For more details, contact Loras College Admission at 563.588.7236 or admissions@loras.edu.

Students must be full-time, undergraduate and maintain satisfactory academic progress for renewal.

Families/students are encouraged to file the FAFSA to determine eligibility for federal and state aid and additional need-based funds. Scholarships and grants are subject to change. To ensure full consideration for scholarships and grants, students must be accepted and have all current transcripts and test scores to Loras College by January 31. Transfer Excellence, Phi Theta Kappa and Transfer Achievement Awards are not able to be combined (e.g. are not stackable). Total awards for students cannot exceed full tuition. The scholarship is available for a maximum of eight semesters. Students must be a full-time undergraduate and meet the GPA criteria for renewal.
