Pharmacists are experts of medication who dispense prescriptions to patients and provide information on dosages, how to take the drugs and the drugs’ effects. They earn their Pharm.D. after five years of pharmacy school, which can be entered after two, three or four years of undergraduate study. Students interested in attending pharmacy school after Loras meet with Dr. Dave Speckhard as early as possible in their college careers to plan the prerequisite courses that will best prepare them.
Loras and Creighton College have two 3+4 plans that include a Doctor of Pharmacy Admission and Articulation Agreement and the Creighton Pharmacy and Loras College Biology course requirements. Pre-Health Professions Advising
Students interested in attending pharmacy school after Loras should meet with Dr. Dave Speckhard as early as possible in your college career to plan which pre requisite courses need to be taken when. Pharmacy school is five years. You can enter Pharmacy school after 2, 3 or 4 years at Loras but you will still be in Pharmacy school for 5 years after that. A four year degree from Loras in a major of the student’s choice that is also strong in science will prepare you well for pharmacy school but will also prepare you for other options if you are not accepted into pharmacy school.
