Allergy Shots


The Loras College Health Center does not administer allergy shots. See below to schedule allergy shots.
 
Medical Associates Clinic, P.C.

Please verify coverage with your health insurance provider, and then take your current health insurance information to the Medical Associates Clinic (West Campus) Registration Office prior to your first visit. Title 19 insurance is not accepted. You will need to take your allergy serum and necessary written physicians order from your hometown allergist if brought to school with you.  
Allergy shots are given:            8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.   Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
                                                                 7:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.   Tuesday     
  • Call 563-584-4485 to make an appointment with a doctor.
  • After the initial appointment, no appointment is needed to receive an allergy shot, but please register at the appointment desk when you come in.
  • While school is in session:  If you come for your shots from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m., an approximate 15-20 minute wait is involved.  Usually no waiting is involved during the morning hours.
  • If you are on a weekly injection schedule, shots can be given within a 5-10 day range.
  • Wait 30 minutes after the shot is given, and return to the shot room to be checked before leaving Medical Associates.
  • Injections start with the weakest strength and increase each week until the maximum dose is reached.
  • Periodically you will be asked to see the physician for re-evaluation of your condition.
 
Dubuque Internal Medicine Allergy and Dermatology

  • Please verify coverage with your health insurance provider, and then take your current health insurance information to the Dubuque Internal Medicine Registration Office prior to your first visit.
  • Bring allergy medicine and past history information from past M.D.
  • Shots are given Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00-11:30 and 1:30-4:30; Friday 9-11:30 and 1:30-3:30. 
  • You must wait 30 minutes after the shot.
  • They do not accept Title 19 of Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa Health Solutions or HMO unless prior approval.
 
Dubuque ENT (formerly Otolaryngology)

  • Call 563-588-0506 to make an appointment with a doctor.
  • Please verify coverage with your health insurance provider, and then take your current health insurance information to the Dubuque ENT (formerly Otolaryngology) Registration Office prior to your first visit.
  • Bring allergy medicine and past history information from past M.D.
  • Shots are given Monday through Friday, 8:30 - 11:40 a.m. and 1:00 - 4:40 p.m.  Patient must wait 20 minutes after the injection.  (Occasionally allergy shots may not be available due to physician schedules.)
  • Do not accept HMO (*Medical Associates HMO Community Plan may provide coverage for select patients), Humana, Title 19 (Iowa Health Solutions), or Title 19 of Illinois.  Iowa Medipass must have referral from the primary physician.
