FAMILY WEEKEND November 1 - 3, 2013

Friday, November 1

5:15 p.m.

Mass for Feast of All Saints
Christ the King Chapel

Join us to start the weekend celebration! All families and faith traditions are welcome.

7:00 p.m.
“Diversity in the Winter Sky”
Heitkamp Planetarium

Throughout history, ancient people envisioned cultural and religious significance to the stars and constellations. Mythological stories tell us much about these early beliefs of the history of the cosmos. Join us as we connect the different constellations in our winter night sky with the cultures whose mythologies have been passed down for thousands of years. Admission is free; no ticket or reservation required. (Presenters: Tony Gates and Dolina Maharjan)

7:00 p.m.
Norman Ng, Magician
Marie Graber Ballroom,
Alumni Campus Center

Norman Ng (pronounced “ing”) has been performing his
exciting and unique brand of magic throughout the U.S. for
over 21 years. He has performed for more than 500,000 from the New York Hilton Hotel, to the World Famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, Calif., as well as on hundreds of college campuses, fairs, festivals, theaters and corporate events nationwide. Norman is known for bringing a fresh and dynamic energy to his shows. He views his show as a conversation with an audience rather than a performance for them. He involves the audience in ways no other performer does. He gets the audience to react in ways they never thought they could. He swings stuff, smashes stuff, and makes hundreds of  people suspend their disbelief with every show. Norman has also gained national recognition in the magic community. He has performed with and for some of the greatest magicians in the world. He has won numerous national and international magic awards such as the 1st place medal at the prestigious Tannen’s Magic Academy. He was also voted to be a finalist in the Society of American Magicians Centennial Stage Competition held in New
York City.
