Schultz guides students in course selection, prepares them for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), aids them in seeking research, clinical, and volunteer opportunities, and helps them navigate the often complicated application processes for professional schools.
Previously, she taught anatomy and cadaver lab, as well as biology lab at Loras on an adjunct basis for nearly six years. Schultz also worked as an assistant research scientist and postdoctoral research scholar at University of Iowa where she received her master of public health (MPH) degree in 2008. Her work aimed to promote the health of rural Iowans and Midwestern populations with an emphasis on nutrition, exercise and aging issues. While at UI, Schultz was presented with two academic-based scholarships.
Schultz received her Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) in 1995 from the University of Tübingen, a German public research university.
Schultz is also a board member of the Foundation for Dubuque Public Schools and a member of the Women’s Giving Circle through the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque. She was also a member of the Empowerment Board and Health Work Groups of Johnson County and served on the UI College of Public Health Strategic Planning Committee.
