Michelle teaches Introduction to Social Welfare, Social Work with Groups and Families, Social Policy, and Self-Care. In addition to social work courses, Michelle also teaches in the First Year Sequence. She has worked in HIV/AIDS prevention and counseling and gang prevention with diverse populations in San Francisco. Michelle has an extensive history of working with survivors of abuse, drug addiction, and people who are unhoused. Currently, her research is centered around the neuroscience of trauma, especially among college students and how we can heal our brains. Teaching at Loras is a passion, especially with smaller class sizes and a supportive community for all.
