In this engaging and story-driven talk, Lauren (Squires) Ready (’08), an Emmy-winning filmmaker, bestselling author of Ask Like a Leader, and founder of Forever Ready Productions, explores how curiosity and asking the right questions can shape the way we learn, lead, and connect with others. Drawing on her journey from a Loras College student to award-winning journalist, documentary storyteller, and entrepreneur, she shares powerful moments when a single question changed the course of a story, and even her own life.

A Journey Through Cancer: From Researcher to Patient…and Back Again
In his current role as Associate Professor of Kinesiology and Biology at Loras College, Dr. Thraen-Borowski serves as the Director of the Cancer Research in Exercise Science Laboratory (CARESLab). His research agenda focuses on the role of physical activity in cancer survivorship, specifically evaluating the implementation of physical activity interventions and the effectiveness of those interventions on clinical outcomes, prognosis, and quality of life. In his talk, entitled “A Journey Through Cancer: From Researcher to Patient…and Back Again”, Dr. Thraen-Borowski will be discussing this research and the impact that it has made on this community.
