Seth D. Myers is an international multimedia artist, filmmaker, and educator whose work explores the intersections of visual communication, experimental media, and human experience. Holding an MFA in New Genres from the San Francisco Art Institute, Myers brings more than two decades of teaching, creative production, and curation to his role at Loras College.
His short films, creative work, and multimedia installations have screened at major venues including the Museum of Modern Art in Moscow, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome, and the Currents New Media Festival in Santa Fe, earning international recognition including the Grand Prize, Best Short Film at the New Jersey International Film Festival, Finalist for the Andy Warhol Award, Best Experimental USA at the Blow-Up International Arthouse Film Festival, and Honorable Mention, Best in Show at MOMA Moscow’s Now & After Video Art Exhibition.
At Loras college, Professor Myers teaches Motion Graphics & FX, Creative Image-Making, Media & Society, and Experimental Video, mentoring students to merge conceptual innovation with technical skill. His pedagogy emphasizes experiential learning, trust, and dialogue, encouraging students to explore identity, spirituality, and culture through creative inquiry.
Myers’ creative research bridges analog and digital methodologies, examining how emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence and generative media tools, reshape art-making, authorship, and perception. His upcoming project, Prayer Bridges, expands this exploration through the integration of AI-assisted image and video generation, blending documentary filmmaking, ethnography, and interfaith dialogue to consider how spirituality materializes across cultures and digital spaces.
In addition to his creative practice, Myers has served as a juror and curator for national and international art exhibitions, contributing to platforms that promote experimental and interdisciplinary work. His achievements in the field of screendance and performative media have been featured at the 6th International Meeting on VideoDance & VideoPerformance at the CCCC Museum in Valencia, Spain. His academic presentations focus on bridging the gap between traditional studio practices and emerging digital technologies in the art classroom. He continues to exhibit and collaborate with artists and educators exploring new intersections between art, media, and technology.
