Graduate Student Scholarships

Loras offers scholarships to new, incoming graduate students. Each master’s degree program awards one $2,000 scholarship for each program entry term.

Deadline & Selection Process

Scholarship applications are due one month prior to the start of your first semester in the program.
Application materials submitted for program admission will be used as part of the scholarship review and selection process.
Scholarship recipients will be notified at least two weeks prior to the start of the semester.
The scholarship award will be applied to the student’s financial aid award letter.

Eligibility Criteria

Be admitted or conditionally/provisionally admitted to a master’s program before applying.
Submit your FAFSA one month before your first semester.
Scholarship is only open to domestic students eligible for federal financial aid.
Scholarships are awarded to high-merit, high-need students by a review committee.
Recipients must enroll in at least 6 graduate credits their first semester.
Students receiving any tuition reimbursement or corporate partnership discount are not eligible.
Loras College employees are not eligible.

Scholarships Available

One $2,000 scholarship is available for a fall start student, per calendar year.
One $2,000 scholarship is available for a spring start student, per calendar year.

Program Criteria

Minimum 3.3 cumulative undergraduate GPA.
At least one year of professional work involving data or the application of data. This can include a undergraduate internships.
A short personal statement describing how you hope to use this degree to advance a specific career path.

MA in Applied Psychology

Scholarships Available

One $2,000 scholarship is available for a fall start student, per calendar year.
One $2,000 scholarship is available for a spring start student, per calendar year.

Program Criteria

Minimum 3.3 cumulative undergraduate GPA.
At least two years of post-baccalaureate professional work or volunteer work.
A short personal statement describing how you hope to use this degree to advance a specific career path.

Loras awards merit-based scholarships annually to second-year athletic training graduate students, who are nominated by a faculty committee.

MS in Coaching Leadership

Program Criteria

At least two years of impactful coaching/athletic experience—as demonstrated on resume.

A short personal statement describing your prior experiences related to disability and a brief explanation of what, how and why you would change one aspect of your experience.

Minimum 3.5 cumulative undergraduate GPA
A short personal statement describing your prior experiences related to service—paid relevant work, volunteer work, community service, leadership roles, etc.
