Coach Randy Steward Fund

Coach Randy Steward built more than a wrestling program at Loras—he built a family. For 23 years (1993–2016), Coach Steward led with heart, humility, and an unwavering commitment to his student-athletes. His legacy includes 228 wins, 36 All-Americans, three National Champions, and four Iowa Conference Coach of the Year honors—but his greatest accomplishment was the culture of family, respect, and resilience he instilled in every Duhawk wrestler who stepped on the mat.

HONORING A LEGACY

We have a special opportunity to honor Coach Steward and ensure that his legacy continues to shape Loras Wrestling for generations to come. The Coach Randy Steward Fund will directly strengthen Loras Wrestling by supporting critical priorities beyond scholarships, including:

  • Recruiting outreach and visits
  • Facility improvements:
    • Locker room
    • Weight room
    • Meeting space
    • Wrestling room upgrades
  • Equipment upgrades and technology
  • National wrestling meet travel enhancements
  • Athletic team development experiences

John (’83) and Roberta Winkle have generously sponsored a $25,000 matching challenge. Every gift made will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000, helping us reach our $100,000 goal by December 11, when we will honor the Steward family during the Loras Wrestling dual meet against Cornell College in the Loras Fieldhouse.

Coach Steward’s influence lives on in the athletes he mentored and the program he shaped. This is your chance to celebrate that legacy—to give back to the coach who gave so much of himself to his wrestlers, his program, and his college.

Thank you for joining us in honoring Coach Steward and ensuring that his spirit continues to guide future generations of Duhawk wrestlers.
