A Loras Community for All

The Loras College Center for Student Empowerment and Success is committed to fostering a communal and supportive environment for all students by providing resources for academic achievement, leadership development, and student engagement. The Center serves as a hub for students seeking guidance, mentorship, and opportunities to enhance their college experience.

STUDENT ENGAGEMENT & LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Loras College offers a variety of student-led organizations and interest-based groups that encourage leadership, cultural engagement, and community building. These groups provide students with opportunities to connect, learn, and grow in a setting open to all.

Students interested in joining or learning more about these organizations can contact us for further information on participation, events, and leadership opportunities at Terrianna.Black@loras.edu.

ACADEMIC & PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT RESOURCES

The Center provides programs designed to support students in their academic and personal development journey. Services include:

  • Mentorship programs that connect students with faculty, staff, and peers.
  • Leadership training and professional development opportunities around community issues in higher education and student success.

FIRST-GENERATION SCHOLARS PROGRAM

The First-Generation Scholars Program provides resources for students who are the first in their families to earn an undergraduate degree and may need help navigating higher education, particularly those who may benefit from additional academic and financial guidance. The program offers scholarships based on academic achievement, leadership potential, and financial need. Students interested in applying for these resources can connect with our staff to explore available opportunities.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & CULTURAL PROGRAMMING

The Center sponsors events and initiatives that celebrate diverse perspectives and foster dialogue on important social and cultural topics. These events are open to all students and encourage meaningful connections across the Loras College community.
