FAQs

What does marketing do to promote events?

Our team actively promotes institutional events across multiple venues, including our campus, the City of Dubuque, and national locations. Standard promotional channels encompass institutional email communications, social media platforms, select media outlets, and dedicated sections of loras.edu, including the events and visit pages. Select signature events may warrant enhanced promotional strategies and additional media coverage.

Do I need a new logo for my project?

Thank you for your inquiry regarding logo specifics. As a general policy, we maintain the integrity of our institutional logo lockups and opt to incorporate design elements around these approved logos rather than altering them. While there are occasional circumstances that warrant the creation of a new logo, most requests can be effectively addressed through our standard design process.

May we please adjust the Dewey logo for this event?

Regarding modifications to Dewey’s appearance: Our institutional policy maintains that Dewey must be depicted in his approved stance only. The mascot may be presented either in full-body form or appropriately cropped for specific applications, but no alterations to his established pose are permitted.

What should I do if the media contacts me directly?

We are pleased to have Lexi Schroeder serve as our institution’s official media representative. While media outlets have been formally notified of her appointment, you may occasionally receive direct media inquiries. In such instances, please forward these requests to Lexi, who will coordinate the appropriate response and manage all subsequent communication.

Can I take photos on my phone and share them with marketing?

Due to scheduling constraints, our photography and videography staff may not be available for all events. In such circumstances, we welcome high-resolution images captured by event participants on their personal devices. These photographs may be submitted to the Marketing Department for our digital asset library. Contemporary mobile devices typically produce images of sufficient quality for digital applications, though please note that print media requirements necessitate higher technical specifications.
