Dr. Kohl specializes in film studies, rock and roll history, media analysis, and scriptwriting, and other aspects of popular culture. He has been published in popular culture texts and journals, including Popular Music and Society and the Journal of Popular. He has served as the comics area chair of the Midwest Popular Culture Association. Dr. Kohl has been teaching at Loras College since 1995.
