Stacia McDermott  MA

Director of Spiritual Life & Peace and Justice

After completing her undergraduate degree at Loras College, Stacia spent two years engaging in post-graduate service with Holy Cross Associates and with a Catholic worker community. Stacia then married her Loras sweetheart and worked in youth ministry at St. Anthony’s Parish for five years before staying home with her three children and writing for online faith-based websites. Returning to Loras in 2012 to oversee the Fr. Ray Peace and Justice Center, Stacia moved to the role of director of spiritual life in 2017. In 2023, Stacia completed her master’s degree in psychology and loves the opportunity to create an open and welcoming space in spiritual life. Accompanying students on their faith journey, bridge-building, developing one’s sense of vocation, and being awake to God’s spirit in our midst makes Stacia feel extremely grateful for her role at Loras.
