Professor Tracy Lipinski EdDc, LSC, is a core counselor education faculty member and an assistant professor in the Clinical Mental Health Program at Loras College. She is in the final stages of finishing her dissertation and will graduate from the CACREP-Accredited program Viterbo University in Lacrosse, WI, in May of 2024 with an Ed.D. in Counselor of Education and Supervision. She worked as an elementary teacher for seven years and a school counselor for 16 years. During that time, she has worked closely with students of trauma, utilizing Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs as her platform. She has also provided professional development opportunities for staff on student behavioral challenges, ACES, and supporting students with low socioeconomic challenges.

In addition to her role as a professor, Professor Lipinski remains committed to her own professional development. She has been a member of the American School Counseling Association for 15 years, the American Counseling Association, and the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision for the past 5 years. She regularly attends conferences, workshops, and training sessions to stay current with the latest research and advancements in counseling practices. These areas include best practices in Counselor Education, trauma-informed practices, enhancing group work, and counseling with multicultural competence.

Professor Lipinski’s research interests include Trauma-informed practices, the effectiveness of group counseling, and how intersectionality plays a role in our position as counselors. Her dedication to the counseling profession, coupled with her passion for teaching and research, will have a lasting impact on the education and training of future counselors.

In Professor Lipinski’s free time, she enjoys time with her husband, Nathan, three children Carson, Elena, and Cameron, and two goldendoodles. She also enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time on the water during the summer.
