President Collins Named Iowa Board Chair of Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact

The Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact announced that Loras College President Jim Collins (’84) will serve as Iowa Board Chair beginning July 1. He will help to continue the three-year strategic alliance between the two states and create a framework for increase commitment to equity.

Collins will fill the position of University of Northern Iowa Provost Jim Wohlpart, who completed his two-year term as Iowa Board Chair.

Iowa Campus Compact supports member institutions as they fulfill the public purpose that is at the heart of higher education. It partners with institutions to assist in prioritizing what matters most and to adapt to changing times that allow it to continue to have a positive impact on our communities and the world.

In 2019, the organization formed a three-year strategic alliance with the Minnesota Campus Compact. The collaboration allows both organizations to operate more efficiently and effectively to work with more students, staff, faculty, and partners to address the most pressing issues from political polarity to student food insecurity to workforce readiness.

Together, Iowa & Minnesota Campus Compact strengthens colleges’ and universities’ capacity to fulfill the public purposes of higher education through a network of 58 campuses. This includes educating students through community and civic learning experiences and making an impact in communities through reciprocal partnerships that address community-identified goals. IAMNCC creates partnership opportunities, supports quality programming through professional development, and promotes the importance of the civic mission.
