Course Highlights

Data Visualization

This course provides an introduction to the field of data and information visualization, a key sub-field in the area of data analysis and mining. Specific analytic topics covered include: tables & charting, multi-dimensionality of data, handling unstructured data, and advanced visualization tools and techniques.

Statistical Learning

In this course, students will learn to use and interpret various methods for modeling and understanding complex datasets. Students will explore the theoretical underpinnings of regression techniques and classification methods for both supervised and unsupervised learning. Students will also learn to use appropriate software to apply these methods

Big Data Analytics

In this course, students will learn about the challenges inherent in dealing with the large datasets prevalent in today’s business environment. This includes issues regarding how to store large datasets and how to gain insight from their data. Issues discussed will include how to keep the data secure and how to process the information in these datasets in an efficient manner. It will also look at various ways datasets can be structured. Students will learn how and when to use different tools that exist to analyze these large datasets.
